Unakka chemeen chamanthi (Dry shrimp chutney)


This is one of the easy to prepare chammanthi which tastes great with hot rice, kanji ( Rice gruel) too!!Got this recipe from my veliyamma!!

Ingredients

Dry prawns (Chemeen) -1 cup


Chilly powder -3/4 tbsp-1 tbsp


Grated fresh coconut/frozen -1/2 cup


Shallots( Kunjulli) -6-7


Curry leaves- few (optional)


Coconut oil -1tbsp


Salt

Method

1. In a pan, heat coconut oil and roast cleaned dry shrimps in low flame for about 5-8 minutes until they are slightly golden in colour.

2.  Further add coconut, shallots, curry leaves,salt and red chilly powder, mix well and roast it for minute and switch off flame.

3. Coarsely grind it once cooled down.

Enjoy with  Rice/Rice porridge!!
