Sugar cookies (without butter)

Ingredients

All purpose flour (Maida) – 1 3/4 cup


Salt -less than 1/4 tsp


Baking powder-1 tsp


Oil-3/4 cup


Powdered Sugar -3/4 cup


Egg -1( Room temperature)


Vanilla essence -1 tsp

Method

* Combine dry ingredients (flour,salt and baking powder) together and keep aside.

*Beat together oil and powdered sugar until it well incorporated, further add vanilla essence and egg.Whisk well. (I used electrical mixer)

* Now add dry ingredients little at a time and with cut and fold method(using spatula), dont overmix. Mix until dough is formed.

* Rest the dough for 15- 20 minutes.

* Divide the dough into 3-4 parts.

* Roll down a portion, cover it with parchment paper and roll down(neither too thick nor too thin), repeat with other portions too.

*Now uncover the parchment paper and cut out unto desired shapes with the help of cookie cutter.

* Place it into baking tray with parchment paper in it.

*Sift Powdered Sugar on top of cookies.

*Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes in preheated oven (preheated-10 min) with 170C.

* Once they are out of oven, let them cool for sometime.
