Chakkakuru manga (Jackfruit seeds and raw mango) curry!!! This is a typical nadan ozhichu curry, especially in this jackfruit and mango season this is a curry is bliss. Amma used to prepare this during this season always, gave a try too!! Simply nadan, easy and yummy with hot rice!! Recipe:
Peel seeds and remove the brown skin layer.
Cook sliced jackfruit seeds(about 15-20) and drumstick with salt, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chilly powder and 2 cup water in medium flame, until seeds are half cooked.
Add cubed sliced raw mango to it and cook for few more minutes until mangoes are tender. (*We don’t add mango in the beginning as it slows down the cooking process for seeds). Grind together 1 cup grated coconut and 1tsp cumin seeds (jeera) with little water until it becomes a very smooth paste.
Add coconut paste to the curry and mix well on low flame for another 2 minutes and switch off the flame.
Tempering *Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds, add sliced 3 small shallots (Fry till it becomes golden brown).
*Add 2 dry chillies and curry leaves.
* Pour the tempering over the curry and close it with a lid and let it rest for 10 min.
Relish it with hot rice…
